23/52: A snake in the grass

Grass snake

Grass snake - Photo ©Geir Ertzgaard

I’ve really had an off period with my camera lately, with my muse largely avoiding me, which is one of the reasons why I’ve posted very little on the project «X52 – One image a week».

But summer is here, no excuses, and time to get into the photo grove again. The subject for last week was «Close» (nær), which in short is just another term for macro photography.

This solution, Snake in the grass, is an easy one, just find most interesting flower stem in my garden, try to make it look like a snake bending, and presto, task is done. Hopefully this will bring my muse back.

Nice and easy on the eye, Geir. I wonder if moving the focus closer to the front or back would add a little more impact, but either way a nice and colorful picture.

I hope your muse finds you. Just remember that she almost never looks for you when you are not shooting. 🙂

I thought about it, but find that keeping the sharpest point one third into the image works best. Another way to do it would be to have a broader DOF. My muse is back, btw.

Takker!

That’s what I like to hear. I worried about the focus being in the wrong place, but I thing I got it right. Good to hear you confirm it.
