A place to miss

If I were to move from the West Coast, I think the one place I would miss would be Hellestø Beach. I return here now and again to get away from the noise of the city, to contemplate and experience beauty. I always bring my camera, and every time I return from a walk the images are different. Here’s a series of the kind of images some would call a cliché. Well, there’s a reason for a cliché being just that. It is something that will be repeated, and which should be repeated.

Thanks, Fred Rune. I think I agree with your picks. For me there is a little story here, with the ship sailing off into the northeast, and the images work best together. Looking back on the shoot, I think I would have chosen to make a panorama of it instead of cropping images as I did here. As you can see if you look closely, the quality would have been better had I chosen that other route.
Apart from that, the most difficult thing was to ensure that gradience from dark to light was transcient. It sometimes doesn’t happen when you use wide spaces of color like this.
