Well, who would have thought. Tell me you always thought that a buddha always had to be a man. But is reaching Enlightenment a gender-regulated achievement? Thought not? But why then do we conceive of Buddha as a man? Don’t we all need to become buddhas to reach enlightenment? Maybe those who sculptured the figures of Wat Preypadoav and any other pagoda in Cambodia are wiser than us? Why genderrize faith?
